But first, a quiz: Can you spot the heinous crime being committed in this photograph taken outside Wayne Henry Studios? The shocking answer will be revealed at the end of this journal entry!

Here the guys are entering stately Wayne Henry Studios:

Scott is ready to hit some drums and cymbals...

Tommy is wearing his "Widespread Panic" look...

And Danny is rocking away on the guitar...

The guys have noted that Scott always looks at the cymbals before he hits them, as if to intimidate them by letting them know they're about to get hit hard...

Danny rants about how the package of Spree we got at the convenience store has an inordinate amount of yellow Spree in it due to poor quality control, and that we should file a complaint and return the unused portion...

Apparently yellow Spree are so sour that they can cause occasional levitation...

Please don't be frightened. The strange blobs of light in these photographs is an optical effect caused by the flash of the camera reflecting off of the drum set, not by ghosts or other ectoplasmic energies.

Tommy plays around on the drums during a break...

Some record studios might have gold records and such framed on their walls. Since Wayne Henry Studios is just starting out, they have to make do with cool miniature Star Wars movie posters framed on the walls.

Here you can see the Wayne Henry Studios kitchen, with the remnants of our lunch from McDonald's. Our lunch that we sat for about half an hour in the drive-thru waiting for. And wasn't even very hot, which you'd certainly hope it would be after waiting that long. And they didn't give us any ketchup with it either.

After rehearsing the new songs, the guys gather around the recording equipment to review the most recent recordings. Scott then has to go, and Tommy stays to try to get some bass tracks recorded.

"Peter Pan and the Problem with Girls" bass track, take 1...

"Peter Pan and the Problem with Girls" bass track, take 12...

"Peter Pan and the Problem with Girls" bass track, take 247...

I settle down for a short nap...

And the bass track is recorded! Tommy and I drive back to Jackson with Lately David more confident in their new material, and a little bit closer to having a new record.

Did you spot the criminal act in the photo from the beginning? Here's the answer:

Yes, that is a photo of two ants stealing a caterpillar! In broad daylight! Musicians should feel free to contact Danny about using the services of Wayne Henry Studios, but be advised that if you go there you might want to leave any insect larvae you value at home!
